4.3.27. Land Cover

Surface properties for the seven SUEWS land cover types.

SUEWS divides the urban surface into seven distinct surface types, each with unique thermal, radiative, and hydrological properties. The surface fractions (sfr) for all seven types must sum to 1.0 for each site.

Parameters:

paved

Properties for paved surfaces like roads and pavements

The paved parameter group is defined by the Paved Surfaces structure.

bldgs

Properties for building surfaces including roofs and walls

The bldgs parameter group is defined by the Buildings structure.

evetr

Properties for evergreen trees and vegetation

The evetr parameter group is defined by the Evergreen Trees structure.

dectr

Properties for deciduous trees and vegetation

The dectr parameter group is defined by the Deciduous Trees structure.

grass

Properties for grass surfaces

The grass parameter group is defined by the Grass structure.

bsoil

Properties for bare soil surfaces

The bsoil parameter group is defined by the Bare Soil structure.

water

Properties for water surfaces like lakes and ponds

The water parameter group is defined by the Water Surfaces structure.

ref

The ref parameter group is defined by the Reference Info structure.
