4.3.16. Deciduous Tree Initial State#
Initial state for deciduous trees with vegetation parameters plus porosity.
Parameters:
- state#
Initial water state of the surface
- Unit:
mm
- Example:
0.0
- soilstore#
Initial soil store. Related to Soil Moisture Deficit (SMD) as SMD = soilstorecap - soilstore.
- Unit:
mm
- Example:
150.0
- snowfrac#
Snow fraction

- Example:
0.0
- icefrac#
Ice fraction
- Unit:
dimensionless
- Example:
0.0
- snowwater#
Snow water
- Unit:
mm
- Example:
0.0
- snowdens#
Snow density
- Unit:
kg m-3
- Example:

- temperature#
Initial temperature for each thermal layer
- Unit:
degC
- Example:

- Unit:
degC
- Example:
15.0
- tin#
Initial interior surface temperature
- Unit:
degC
- Example:
20.0
- ref#
The
refparameter group is defined by the Reference Info structure.
- alb_id#
Albedo at the start of the model run. If not provided, it is computed from the LAI state and vegetation-specific albedo limits (alb_min, alb_max). Trees follow a direct LAI-albedo relationship (denser canopy -> higher albedo due to leaves being more reflective than bark), while grass follows a reversed relationship (denser grass -> lower albedo as soil is more reflective than grass blades).
- Unit:
dimensionless
- Default:
None (optional)
- lai_id#
Leaf area index at the start of the model run.
- Unit:
m2 m-2
- Example:
1.0
- gdd_id#
Growing degree days at the start of the model run
- Unit:
degC d
- Example:
0
- sdd_id#
Senescence degree days at the start of the model run
- Unit:
degC d
- Example:
0
- wu#
The
wuparameter group is defined by the wateruse structure.
- porosity_id#
Porosity for deciduous trees at the start of the model run
- Unit:
dimensionless
- Example:
0.2
- decidcap_id#
Deciduous capacity for deciduous trees at the start of the model run
- Unit:
mm
- Example:
0.3
